With the temperature warming up in the summertime, there’s nothing better than thirst quenching matcha beverages and treats. Matcha powder pairs wonderfully with iced beverages or smoothies, making it a hydrating and antioxidant-rich option to sip on throughout the summer months. Matcha contains high levels of catechins and polyphenols, which can help protect our cells from free radical damage. Matcha can help naturally raise our energy levels, to help us sustain longer days out in the sun. Without further ado, here are 6 ways you can elevate your recipes with delicious matcha powder.

Simply Layered Blueberry Matcha Drink

Serves 1

Ingredients

Blend blueberries with plant-based milk and ice.

Whisk matcha with warm water in a separate small bowl.

Pour the whisk matcha mixture on top of the blueberry smoothie.

 

5 Minute Matcha Chia Seed Pudding

Mix chia seeds with plant-based milk and refrigerate for 30 minutes in a glass jar. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl stir matcha powder into yogurt until smooth. Layer matcha yogurt on top of chia seeds. Cut and add your favorite fruit and finish with a drizzle of maple syrup.

 

Flamingo Tango Smoothie

Serves 1

Ingredients:

Blend watermelon and water until smooth. Pour into glass. In a separate bowl whisk matcha and hot water together. Drizzle matcha mixture over the smoothie.

 

Not your Basic Iced Tea

Serves 1-2

Ingredients

In a medium bowl or cup mix chia seeds with 125ml of cold water. Let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes until mixture thickens.

In another cup, whisk matcha with 125ml of warm water (175F/80C) until smooth.

Add ice to the bottom of a tall glass. Then add kiwi cubes, chia mixture, and top with matcha mixture.

Give it a good stir and enjoy.

Strawberry Matcha Delight

Ingredients:

Mash strawberries and put it into a glass cup.

Add plant-based milk to cup.

Mix matcha with 100ml of warm water(175F/80C).

Pour matcha into the glass and top it with more strawberries to your desire.

Matcha Orange Slushy

Serves 1

Ingredients:

Squeeze one orange and blend with ice and pour into a glass cup.

Mix matcha with 100ml of warm water (175F/80C). Pour on top of the orange slushy.
